Kootenay Rockies
The Powder Highway — steeps, glades and deep dry snow. Plan the car first.

The Kootenay Rockies string together some of the deepest, driest snow in North America: Revelstoke, Kicking Horse, Fernie, RED Mountain and Whitewater. The resorts are hours apart on mountain highways, so the trip lives or dies on logistics — the right airport, an AWD vehicle with winter tires, and gear built for steep trees.
